Marcia Carol Martin Anderson became in 2011 the first African-American woman to achieve the rank of major general in the United States Army Reserve.[1] She was born 1958 in Beloit, Wisconsin, and finished school in East Saint Louis, Illinois.[2]
As a civilian, General Anderson serves as clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.[3]
A graduate of Creighton University and Rutgers Law School, she is married to Amos Charles Anderson.[4][5] The couple lives in Wisconsin.[6]
